Celebrating Three Years of Jeff Rich's Eyes on the South

EYES ON THE SOUTH

The folks at the Oxford American are celebrating three years of Jeff Rich's weekly feature EYES ON THE SOUTH, which the Oxford American (and lots of the rest of us too!) regards as one of their "most admired online projects."

Each week, Rich brings us us work by an exceptional Southern photographer.

As Rich does this, he demonstrates a fine and discriminating eye for Southern photography.

Rich also demonstrates remarkable persistence in maintaining this challenging schedule while meeting all his other responsibilities as an artist and a professor in the School of Art and Art History at the University of Iowa.

Jeff says he is always on the lookout for new work, and you can submit yours at oa.eyesonthesouth@gmail.com.

Photographers featured by Rich on EYES ON THE SOUTH since we last checked include Columbia, SC-based photographer Elle Olivia Anderson (see image above and story here).

Also Atlanta-based photographer Maury Gortemiller (see image above and story here).

Also Columbus, Ohio-based photographer Ari Gabel (see image above and story here).

Also, Atlanta-based photographer Rusty Miller (see image above and story here)

Also,  New Orleans-based photographer Cate Colvin Sampson (see image above and story here).

Finally, Durham, NC-based photographer Aaron Canipe (see image above and story here).

Congratulations to all these fine folks, and to Jeff Rich for bringing their work to our attention.

More, later, about EYES ON THE SOUTH -- keep watching this space.
